Queen's College

‘Queen’s is a school that helps people find their talent,’ commented a boarder, aged 15. Everyone who visits Queen’s College comments on the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. There’s a real sense of purpose and a passion for learning, but pupils and staff enjoy one another’s company. Exam results are excellent. ‘We are a warm and caring school community, committed to fulfilling the potential of each individual. We aim to achieve high standards in all our activities,’ said Headmaster Chris Alcock. ‘It’s very important to me that I still do some classroom teaching and I’m delighted to have my own two sons in the school.’

A-level success

A-level results day 2009 brought happiness and a touch of relief to Queen’s College students. ‘We’ve all been aware of the widespread media stories predicting that universities would be very tough indeed over admissions this year,’ said Headmaster Chris Alcock. ‘But in the event almost all of our students are into the university of their choice.’ Overall, 86% of Queen’s results were A, B or C grades – very much in line with the school’s high academic standards. In addition to 15 students with straight A’s, there was a 100% A-level pass rate for the year as a whole. Queen’s is one of the top 2% of UK independent schools in terms of value-added to student A-level results.

Junior School

Queen’s College Junior School occupies part of the same 20-hectare campus. Younger boarders are accommodated within the junior building until they reach Year 8, although they will have lessons in senior school from age 11.

Co-curricular programme

A wide co-curricular programme develops leadership qualities, teamwork, confidence and esteem. Music, drama, art, sport and outdoor pursuits are the key activities.

 ‘What I really love about Queen’s’, a mother told us, ‘is that the school goes for potential rather than force-feeding. If your child is A grade material, that’s what he will achieve; if he’s D grade, he won’t be made to feel stupid.’

小学
女王公学小学位于同一20公顷的校园内。年幼的寄宿生住在小学楼内，直到他们满8岁时为止。从11岁起，他们将在大龄儿童学校上课。
