International students aged 12–14 study on our Lower School programme, which follows the British National Curriculum up to Key Stage 3. The focus is on improving students’ English language skills whilst developing their subject knowledge. Students aged 15–17 can study on our two-year GCSE programme or fast-track their studies on our intensive one-year GCSE programme, which is half the time that British students take. Subjects include English (IGCSE), maths, ICT, business studies, art, geography, biology, chemistry and physics.

From September 2010, Bell Bedgebury International School Sixth Form will offer a full-time A-level programme. A-level is a two-year course and students specialise in three or sometimes four main subjects, which they study in depth. Subjects include maths, further maths, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, business studies, and art. We also offer intensive summer preparation programmes designed to prepare international students for their term-time studies on a GCSE, A-level or International Baccalaureate programme.

on our woodland assault course, mountain-biking, fencing, gymnastics, trampolining, music practice, and arts and crafts.

We prepare our international students for a successful academic career by providing an

A safe and pleasant place to live
An important part of living away from home is having somewhere safe and pleasant to stay. Students live on campus within the beautiful 220-acre Bedgebury estate. Boys and girls live in separate accommodation with their own houseparents. Accommodation is a mixture of single study-bedrooms (for older students), twin rooms and three- to four-bed dormitories. Bathrooms with showers and toilets are adjacent to all bedrooms. Students have a choice of ‘social spaces’ in which to relax, including attractive, comfortable common rooms. Space for quiet prayer, contemplation or reflection is also provided.

Outstanding pastoral care
Staff provide a safe and secure environment and make sure that students feel happy and comfortable throughout their time – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We aim to develop confident young people ready for the next stage of their lives and studies. Medical assistance is always on hand, through a qualified nurse and a doctor on call.

Scholarships
The Bell Educational Trust, owner and operator of the School, offers a number of scholarships. The scholarships are in honour of the Trust’s founder, Frank Bell. Following his experiences as a prisoner of war, where  he set up and ran a secret university for his fellow prisoners, Frank Bell founded the Trust with a vision to promote international understanding through the power of education. Today, the Trust educates over 100,000 students from more than 120 countries through its 38 worldwide teaching centres and e-channels.
